And So, It Begins

I have to be honest, I am not sure where to begin. I have started my first blog post over and over, trying to find the right words, mood, tone just to keep hitting the backspace and returning to that little blinking line. I am excited to the point of giddiness to be here. I have had a very interesting journey, and it led me right back to this place. The place where imagination runs free, tapping on our shoulder and inspiring us to create something beautiful and spectacular. I was out of touch with my own creativity for awhile and have recently become reacquainted. It’s been a bit awkward at first but I have quickly found the familiar rhythm. My intention for this blog is to continue to explore my creativity through making, writing, photography and sharing what I learn with you. We all have to start somewhere, be patient with the process and kind to our imperfections.
So, let’s jump right in!

My current WIP is a second Everyday Slouchy Beanie by Dragon Hoard Designs. This pattern has been such a pleasure to knit. I love the construction of the brim which creates a nice snug and very warm fit. The designer recommends that you use fingering weight yarn held with lace weight mohair and this combination transforms a simple hat into a luxurious staple for your winter wardrobe. The only thing I am not in love with is the mohair can get a little itchy on my forehead. This can be mitigated by waiting to add the mohair until after you finish constructing the brim. I have just a few more rows left and will post the finished project with specs on this blog as well as my Ravelry Project notes.
Well, that wasn’t such a bad start! Thanks for joining me and check back soon and subscribe to stay in touch.

Happy Knitting, Friend!
